Charles Stromer Obituary

Charles “Sonny” Stromer, 83, of Wapello, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022 at his residence.  He has requested not to have a funeral, but for everyone to remember the memories that he has created with you. A celebration of life will be arranged by the family at a later date. The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Wapello are caring for his arrangements.  Sympathy messages can by left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Sonny was born October 17, 1938 in Letts, Iowa, the son of Charles and Minnie (Montgomery) Stromer. He married Bobbie Hartford in November of 1989 and together they created a family of 8 children, 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Some of the things Sonny enjoyed most in life were taking the grandchildren fishing, going on vacation, watching NASCAR and mowing the grass. He spent most of his life as a truck driver, hauling many things from coast to coast. One of the things that will be missed the most is his crude jokes and laughter.

Charles will be deeply missed by his wife, Bobbie Stromer; children: Tom Stromer; Bill (Kim) Stromer; Cheryle Anne Freyermuth; Julie Buhmeyer; Doane (Vicki) Spracklin; Dawn (John) Warrenfeltz; Monica Reece; and Danita Shaw; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-granchildren; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
