Charles Russell "Rusty" Orr

Charles Russell “Rusty” Orr, 80, of Morning Sun, passed away on January 17, 2022 at the Klein Center in Burlington. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Morning Sun.  Burial will follow the services at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Mediapolis.  Memorials may be left to the family in memory of Rusty.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. 

Rusty Orr was born July 31, 1941 in Burlington, the son of Paul Russell and Dorothy Louise (Pilling) Orr.  He graduated from Mediapolis High School.  Rusty was united in marriage to Sandra Chrissinger on February 18, 1962 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Morning Sun.  Rusty was a life long farmer.  He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Morning Sun and the United States Army Reserves.  Rusty loved to work, he loved to take care of his animals and the land.  He enjoyed draft horses, attending the County and State Fair and drinking coffee with his friends uptown. 

Rusty will be missed by his wife, Sandra of Morning Sun; children; Steven Russell Orr of Mediapolis; Diana Lynne Holsteen of Yarmouth; Curtis William (Mara) Orr of Mediapolis; grandchildren, Tyler Orr, Zackary (Ashley) Orr, Jacob (Katy) Holsteen, Jessica (Caleb) Gerst, Rachel Holsteen, Wyatt Orr and Katelyn Orr; great-grandchildren, Price, Paxton, Peyton, Graham, Collins Jean and Oakleigh; brother, Paul Robert (Judi) Orr of Burlington and sister, Marlene Louise (Robert) Beckman of Mediapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold James Orr.
