Charles "Chuck" Morgan Jr.

Charles Morgan, Jr., 84, of Iowa City, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Lantern Park Specialty Care in Coralville.  Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Memorial Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to Charles’ family.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Charles “Chuck” was the son of Charles Robert Morgan and Elsie Elizabeth (Fountain) Morgan.  He was born on November 24, 1941, at home in Louisa County, Iowa.  Chuck attended Country School Union #7, in Muscatine.  In 1960, he graduated from West Liberty High School, West Liberty.  He met his future wife, Lloyse Lou Lenz, on a blind date set up by Ron and Marilyn Baxter.  Ron worked with Chuck at 4x4 (a feed business) and Lloyse Lou worked with Marilyn at Owens Brush.  Charles and Lloyse Lou were married at Grace United Church of Christ in Lone Tree, on July 3, 1966, by Rev. Roy Shaugnessy.

He was a member of Goshem Gleamers 4-H Club and showed his hogs at the Muscatine County Fair.  He was a barber and truck driver for many years.  Chuck restored several cars, including a 1955 Chevy Bel Air and enjoyed traveling to car shows.  He was a member of the River Junction Old Settlers Association.  Chuck was known for making delicious kolaches and building furniture. 

Chuck is survived by his wife, Lloyse Lou of 60 years, daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Curtis) Puetz of Sioux Center, Iowa; son, Robert Peter Morgan of Iowa City, Iowa and brothers, Lon and Wade Morgan.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Clodean Lord and brother-in-law, Lyle Lord, Jr.
