Charlein (Yocom) Lanfier

Charlein Lanfier, 89, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at her home in Muscatine.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.  Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the American Legion Post #27, Muscatine. Charlein Arvilla Elizabeth Yocom was born on November 6, 1936, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Geroge Freeman and Fern Alvirda (Honts) Yocom.  On June 19, 1954, Charlein was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” L. Lanfier in Iowa City.  She worked for Fleetway, Paul’s Clothing and Wilson’s TruValue as a bookkeeper.  Charlein was a member of the First Christian Church and the Moose of Muscatine.  She enjoyed traveling, camping, bowling and ceramics, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially the babies.

Charlein will be deeply missed by her children, Cynthia "Cindy" Haney of Muscatine, Robin (Fred) Harroun of Atalissa, Robert "Bob" Jr. (Tammy) Lanfier of Muscatine and Christine "Chris" (Leroy) McChesney of Tipton; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; sister, Janet Burr of Muscatine and many, many nieces and nephews.

Charlein was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob on June 18, 2016; son-in-law, Mike Haney; great grandson, Chris Foster and siblings, Roger Yocom, Donald Yocom and Robert Yocom.
