Catherine Westlake, 98, of Hills, formerly of Columbus Junction and Conesville, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Atrium Village in Hills. Per Catherine’s wishes, she will be cremated and a private family graveside services will be held at a later date in the Indian Creek Cemetery in rural Columbus Junction. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Catherine. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. Catherine Schabilion was born on September 18, 1921, in Columbus City, Iowa the daughter of Harold and Merle (Smith) Schabilion. On June 20, 1941, she was united in marriage to James Howard Locke, Sr. Following the passing of Howard, she was united in marriage to Robert Westlake on October 15, 1984. Catherine worked at the EconoMart in Columbus Junction for 30 years retiring in 1982. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, crossword and picture puzzle and crafts.
Catherine will be deeply missed by her two sons, Jim (Phyl) Locke of Muscatine and Bob Locke of Muscatine; six grandchildren, Matthew, Steven, Aaron, Nicholas, Jordan and Spencer; eight great grandchildren, Cooper, Ryan, Alex, Amelia, Elliott, Lorelei, Felicity and Edwin; two great-great grandchildren, Isabella and Jemma; and one sister, Velma Schleier of Knoxville.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one brother, Dan Schabilion and one sister in infancy, Esther Schabilion.
