Catherine A. Ribbink, 80, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 - 10:30 A.M at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services, Muscatine. DUE TO THE WEATHER AND ROAD CONDITIONS THERE WILL ALSO BE A PUBLIC GRAVESIDE SERVICE AT 11:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, MARCH 17, 2026, AT GREENWOOD CEMETERY. Catherine Agnes Sickle was born on March 31, 1945 in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of Andy and Arpie Jane (Hynd) Sickle. On March 23, 1985, Catherine was united in marriage to Robert E. Ribbink in Muscatine, Iowa. Catherine had worked for Columbus Junction Schools as custodian for over eighteen years. Later in life she provided comfort care to others. She had been a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and later the Muscatine Baptist Chapel. She loved gardening, being active in her Church and traveling-having made it all but 13 states.
Catherine will be deeply missed by her son, David (Tina) Fountain of Macon, Illinois; grandchildren, Sara (Cody) Troyer of Freemont, Nebraska, Christina Fountain Baker of North Manchester, Indiana, Whitney Fountain of Cedar Rapids, Josh Fountain of Edwardsville, Illinois, Jacob Fountain of Edwardsville, Illinois, Kayla Wilson of Macon, Illinois and Anthony (Brianne) Forbes of North English, Iowa; and; 14 great grandchildren, Ethan Owens, Adam Forbes, Jonathan Forbes, Madison Wilson, Kenzie Shingleton, Mallory Shingleton, Alyse Fountain, Peyton Baker, Rheise Baker, David Baker, Elizabeth Baker, Gabriel Fountain, Terrance MacGregor, Jack MacGregor and siblings, Andrew Sickle, James Sickle, Mary Johnson and Wilma Sink.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Edward Fountain; three great grandchildren, Zaiden Garrison, Ayden Fountain and Genevieve Wilson; brothers, George Sickle and John Sickle and sisters, Anna Wagner and Margaret Wagner.
