Carolyn (Reece) Stalkfleet

Carolyn Rae Reece Stalkfleet, 86, West Liberty passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.  Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the funeral home.  Private family burial will be in Nichols Cemetery.  A time of fellowship with snacks will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the West Liberty Country Club.  Memorials may be directed towards the family in Carolyn’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Carolyn Rae Reece was born on February 2, 1937 in Columbus Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Harry Russell and Vera Leona (Dameron) Reece.  On July 3, 1954, Carolyn was united in marriage to Cecil L. Stalkfleet in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.  Carolyn helped her husband on the farm.  She was a member of West Liberty County Club and Walnut Park Baptist Church.  She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, gambling and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Carolyn will be deeply missed by her daughters, Monica (Jim) Bieri of Letts and Sheri (John) Kustka of Janesville, Wisconsin; 6 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 1 & 1/3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Reece of Joplin, Missouri; 2 sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews in the Reece and Stalkfleet families. 

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil on September 21, 2013; daughter, Dea Stalkfleet on May 4, 1972; brothers, Ted and Michael Reece and nephew, Randy Reece.
