Carolyn Joan (Brei) Peters

Carolyn Joan Peters, 85, of West Liberty, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Lutheran Living.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  Following the committal services,  a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Community Room.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Carolyn Joan Brei was born on June 17, 1939 in Muscatine, Iowa , the daughter of Louis A. and Irene (Monk) Brei.  She was a 1957 graduate of Nichols High School.  She was united in marriage to Kenneth Geertz who preceded her in death at a young age.  She later was married to Kenneth D. Egel and divorced.  Carolyn was later united in marriage to Robert Peters who also preceded her in death.  She was a homemaker and attended the Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine.  Carolyn enjoyed sewing, cooking gardening, flowers, crafting, selling many of her creations at craft shows, animals, raising Boarder Collies and cats.  Carolyn had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. 

Carolyn will be deeply missed by her children, Kim Geertz of Denton, Texas, Brian (Pam Finke) Egel of Nichols, Kent Egel of Letts and Kelli (Phil) Forbes of North Liberty and two grandchildren, Lucas and Alex Forbes. 

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; one daughter, Michelle Joan Egel in infancy and a brother, Robert Brei.
