Carol A. Vance, 80, of Iowa City, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Funeral services will be held at a later date with burial in the Lone Tree Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Carol. Carol Ann Havel was born on October 5, 1939, in Solon, Iowa, the daughter of Hugo and Marie (Hora) Havel. She was a graduate of Solon High School. Carol was united in marriage to Donald Hamilton and later divorced. She married Marion Vance and later divorced. Carol owned and operated her own house cleaning service. She was a member of the Parkview Church in Iowa City. Carol enjoyed family vacations, fishing, camping, flowers and bird watching, but most of all; Carol dearly loved to spend time with her family. Carol was loved by all that knew her.
Carol will be dearly missed by her children, Joseph Hamilton of Iowa City, Bradley (Brenda) Hamilton of Royal, Arkansas, Debra Hamilton of Iowa City, Gary Vance of Port Orange, Florida and Cathie (Chuck) Friese of Riverside; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one sister, Diane (Tim) Bradley of Tiffin.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Brandon Hamilton and two brothers, Donald and Glen Havel.
