Bruce Jackson Obituary

Bruce Allen Jackson 58, of Muscatine passed away April 12, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics after a long battle of illnesses. His daughter her husband and his sister were by his side until the end.  No visitation or services are planned for this time.   A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for Bruce’s family and the arrangements.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Bruce’s name. Bruce was born on July 5, 1963 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, to Frank Jacob and Patricia Ann (Kemper) Jackson. He married Sheila Salyars on October 15, 1983. Their daughter, Jenifer was born a few months later.  Bruce and Sheila later parted ways in 1988 and he never remarried.

Bruce worked at Beach lumber / Beach Furniture, North Star Steel (Gerdau Wilton Steel Mill), he painted for Sprause and then went into business for himself laying carpet and tile and doing home removals.  

Bruce loved setting fireworks off, his dogs, fast cars and loud music. He also enjoyed making people laugh and picking on people. He was very stubborn but had a heart of gold.

Bruce is survived by his daughter Jenifer (Brian) Patrick of Wilton; brother and sisters, Mark Jackson of Ft Dodge, Michelle Barnes of Washington, Candace (Chuck) Harland of Muscatine, step brothers, Darrin (Renee) Kemper of Letts, Chad Kemper and Lee Kirk.  He has three grandsons, Joseph, Tyler and Casen Patrick; nieces, Tonya, Darrian, Janelle, Emma, Abby and Kallie; nephews, Ben Jacob and Cody; three great nieces; one great nephew and his longtime friend and neighbor Lu.

Bruce is proceeded in death by his mother (Patricia Kemper), father (Frank Jackson); two step fathers, Ronald Frisbie and LeRoy Kemper; a brother, Clyde Frisbie; sister, Janet Jackson; his paternal and maternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
