Bonnie Jean Koch was born on September 15, 1943 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Alton and Euretha (Meyer) Koch.  Bonnie graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School.  On November 24, 1962 she was united in marriage to Keith McConahay.  They shared two children together, Holly and Mark.  The couple later divorced.  On October 22, 1983 she was united in marriage to Charles Snyder.  Bonnie was a cook at Columbus Community Schools for 35 years, a custodian at Columbus State Bank for 30 years and worked for Lazy T Produce for 10 years. Bonnie enjoyed being outside and taking care of her plants.  She was also fond of decorating her house, collecting antiques and hanging pictures.  Volunteering was very important to Bonnie, for 30 years on Columbus Day she helped set up the dining area and distribute sandwiches to Colonial Manor and local law enforcement officials.  On Family Night she was in charge of collecting all the milk jugs used for the luminary lighting on Main Street and 2nd Street.  She was someone who could always be counted on to give her time and energy to the community. In 2003 the Columbus Community Club awarded her the Community Pride Award for her service.  She was very social and never knew a stranger.  Most of all, she loved being with her family.

Bonnie will be deeply missed by her husband, Charles Snyder of Letts; children, Holly (John) Dean of Durant and Mark (Kim) McConahay of Granger; step-children, Bryan (Cathy) Snyder of Wilton and Jeanette (Noble) Luke of Iowa City; grandchildren, Ashley (Vadim) Kravchuk, Jake (Haley) Soy, Taylor (Michael) Beem, Michael (Gina) McConahay, Chris (Bridget) McConahay, Marcus McConahay, Andrew Snyder, Satchel Luke and Grace Luke; several great-grandchildren with more on the way; brother, Dave (Barbara) Koch of Cedar Rapids; sister, Julie Koch of Cambridge, WI and sister-in-law, Linda Koch of San Diego.
