Bill Moehle

Bill Moehle, 84, of Burlington, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Oakview Nursing Home in Burlington.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Mediapolis Global Methodist Church, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Kossuth Cemetery. The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Mediapolis is caring for the family.   

William Richard Moehle was born to Edward and Helen (Janssen) Moehle. He spent most of his life near the family homestead just outside Mediapolis. He graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1960, and in August 1964 married Catherine Garmoe. Bill spent his life farming and never missed a chance to visit the Iowa State Fair. He worked at Cropmate Fertilizer and later drove a boom truck for REC, where he also served on the Board of Directors. He cherished meeting friends for meals, spending winters in Texas, and above all, time with his family.

Bill will be deeply missed by his daughter, Christine (Dan) Hobbs; grandchildren Tyler (Taylor Heggen) Hobbs and Austin (Marissa) Hobbs; great-grandchildren Emily, Bennett, and Presley; his brother, Ed Moehle; and special friend, Shirley Beck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Catherine; and his siblings, Sue Siefken, Raymond Moehle, and Bob Moehle.
