Beverly (Heick) Conner

Beverly Joan Conner of Mediapolis passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at the age of 86.

Beverly was born August 7, 1936 to George and Thelma (Morningstar) Heick in Tipton, Iowa. Bev married Floyd Conner on June 20, 1981. With him, the next 40 years were the happiest years of her life.

Bev graduated from Tipton High School and attended college in Cedar Falls. She was self employed for the majority of her life, first co-owning Jax Sundries for 7 years and then owning Bev & Bob’s Dairy Treat for over 20 years. After retiring from the Dairy Treat, she worked in the lunchroom at the Mediapolis School District and for the Mediapolis News on Tuesday nights with a great group of ladies. When not working, Bev enjoyed being in her garden and doing yard work. She also kept busy walking and riding her bike. She had a gift for crocheting, knitting, and cross-stitching and enjoyed playing cards, especially with her Thursday afternoon card club. Bev had a great love for animals and had many cherished pets over the years.

Bev is survived by her three children: Janet (Rich) Perrenoud; Robert (Patti) Lehnherr; and Sue Johnson; two step-sons: David (Amanda) Conner and Michael (Lisa) Lehnherr; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers: George, Paul and Leland Heick, her granddaughter, Ashley (Tim) Fuller, a step-son, John (Marcy) Lehnherr, and a son-in-law, D.J. Johnson.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Kossuth Cemetery. A celebration of life will immediately follow at Bob's Best Shot in Mediapolis.
