Betty M. Miller, 89, of Bettendorf, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa. A private graveside service will be held at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Betty’s name. Betty Mae Minder was born on November 22, 1935, in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Clyde John and Clara Mae (Smith) Minder. Betty was a graduate of Muscatine High School. Betty was united in marriage to Theodore Douglas Finley in 1955 in Muscatine, Iowa and later divorced. She later married Robert Miller in 1986 in Davenport, Iowa. Betty retired from John Deere & Company in 1991 after many years as a manager in the group claims department. After her retirement, she spent some of her days doing recruitment for the United Way and helping out at Lunds 66. In her younger days, Betty had enjoyed going on cruises and was a talented piano player.
Betty will be deeply missed by her children, David (Kathleen) Finley of Wheaton, Illinois; Barbara (James Michael) Lund of Bettendorf, Iowa and Rick J. Finley of Bettendorf; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert “Bob” Minder.
