Betty Hopkins Obituary

Betty J. (Feuss) Hopkins, 87, of Muscatine passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at her home.  Services are 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services, Muscatine.   The family requests attendees wear casual attire for the visitation and service and especially welcome Iowa Hawkeye or St. Louis Cardinal attire.   Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established in Betty’s name.  Condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. 

Betty J. Feuss was born on June 17, 1935 on the family farm in Lost Nation, the daughter of Henry and Elfrieda (Will) Feuss.  Betty attended a one room schoolhouse and graduated high school in Lost Nation.  On August 14, 1955, she was united in marriage to Darrell R. Hopkins in Muscatine.  Betty retired from H.J. Heinz in May of 1997.  She was a former member of the Moose and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and St. Louis Cardinal fan. 

Betty will be deeply missed by her husband of 67 years, Darrell R. Hopkins of Muscatine; children Jaynice (Gene) Hamdorf of Lowden, Iowa, Randy (Dindi) Hopkins of Muscatine, and Wanda (Tim) Hartley of Wilton; grandchildren, Jeremy (Sonia Hambleton) Hopkins, Jason Hopkins, Joshua (Susie) Hamdorf, Megan Hamdorf, Scott (Jessica Armstrong) Longhurst, David (Amanda) Brandies and Lindsey (Zach) Brewer; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jozlyn, Katelyn, Caylee, Madison, Emily, Brylee, Audrey, Bristol, Gauge, Koy, Dalton, Kinley, Zoey, and Lucy; siblings; Lois Short, Konnie Edleman, Joan (Bruce) VonSprecken, Diann Feuss and David Feuss; sister-in-law, Ethel Law and numerous other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. 

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Cecil and Alma Hopkins; siblings, Norma Clatt, Robert Feuss, Gary Fuess, Linda Ward and Donna Muhl and sister-in-law, Beverly Ludman.
