Bert L. Green, Sr

Bert L. Green, Sr. passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 2, 2026 after an extended illness.

  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:30am at Grace Lutheran Church, with a luncheon immediately following. The Reverend Susan Bantz will be officiating.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine is assisting the family.  Memorials in Bert’s name may be made to Jesus Mission, Muscatine, Iowa  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Bert was born on December 1, 1969 in Muscatine, the son of Willa Ann Stinson (Drake) and Rick Drake, and James Green. He was united in marriage to Joanna Fry in 1993. They later divorced, but remained good friends. 

Bert enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, mushroom hunting, card nights, and casino trips. He had a wicked sense of humor, a contagious laugh, and loved to tell stories. Bert found value in things when others didn’t. He would never turn down a strawberry milkshake. He truly loved his children and grandchildren, and time spent with them was the highlight of his life. 

Bert is survived by his father James Green, and his dad Rick Drake; children, Brian Green (Tabby Brown), Breanna Green (Tony Mendoza), Bert Green Jr., and Holly Brockert (Tyler Nimrick); 8 grandchildren: Olivia, Adriana, Bianca, Milena, Abel, Keaghun, Kolton, and Kye; siblings, Shawn (Seth) Manley, Kelsie Schubick (Mick Ridgway), Chris Green, Jim Green, and Jeremy Drake; special Aunt and Uncle, Lisa and Mike Fry; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his mother Willa Ann Drake on January 2, 2025, and his grandparents.
