Barbara Keller, 79, of Illinois City, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Lutheran Living. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Illinois City Town Hall with a luncheon to follow. Memorials may be left to the Illinois City Cemetery or Illinois City United Methodist Church in memory of Barbara. Barbara Lynn Sutter was born on February 1, 1946, in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Keith and Darlene (Dickerson) Sutter. She graduated from Rockridge High School in 1963. On January 9, 1966 she was united in marriage to Neal Keller at the Illinois City United Methodist Church. Barbara worked in publishing at Royal Neighbors Insurance for 30 years. After her retirement, she worked at Plamor Lanes Bowling Alley in Muscatine for eight years. Barbara was a member of the Illinois City United Methodist Church, organizing the weekly collection for a number of years. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Woman’s Bowling Association. She also enjoyed playing cards, traveling in her younger years and never missed her soap operas.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her husband, Neal of Illinois City; sister, Deb (Jim) Eberts of Andalusia; brother, Steve Sutter of Rock Island; sister-in-law, Janis Reddick of East Moline and many cousins, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter in infancy, Pamela Jean; a niece in infancy and brothers-in-law, Monte and Brian Keller.
