Barbara K. (Hainey) Beeding

Barbara K. Beeding, 84, of Wapello passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the Wapello Care Center with her family by her side. Services will be held at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral Home in Wapello on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 1:00pm with a visitation starting at 10:00am. Burial will be at the Wapello Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Great River Hospice. Barbara was born on April 6, 1941 in Wapello, Iowa to Vern and Ruth (Partington) Hainey. She was united in marriage to Billy Beeding on November 3, 1956; he passed away in 2009. Barbara worked as the Post Master at the Oakville Post Office for 30 years before she retired. She was an active member at the Oakville Christian Church and the Oakville Community Club. Barbara volunteered at the local Habitat for Humanity and Relay for Life. She was always on the go, visiting her friends and family and going to church. Barbara loved going for long car drives, traveling, camping, shopping, collecting teapots and Precious Memories figures. She will forever be remembered as “The Pink Grandma”.

She is survived by her loving children Marvin (Cindy) Beeding, Tereasa (Jack) Wykert, and James Beeding; grandchildren Kristen (Jason) Marshall, Jessica Wykert, Christopher (Corynn) Beeding, Daniel (Brittani) Beeding, Samantha Wykert, Alex Beeding, James (Hannah) Beeding, Jeramy Wykert, Amanda Beeding, and Seth Beeding; 16 great grandchildren; sisters Betty Bockman and Kathy Wickham; and brother Leland (Ramona) Hainey.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Vern and Ruth, husband Billy, daughter Kaylee Beeding, daughter-in-law Mary Beeding, brother Thomas Hainey, and sister Nancy Wehage.
