Tony Housman, 81, of Wapello passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Wapello. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in memory of Tony. Anthony Keith Housman was born on July 13, 1943 in Burlington, the son of Floyd E. and Helen L. (Butcher) Housman. Tony was a graduate of Wapello High School. He was united in marriage to Pennie Devore on May 18, 1963 at the Methodist Church in Wapello. Tony was a farmer, carpenter and a substitute bus driver for Wapello schools. He was a member of the International Edsel Club, Iowa Edsel Club and the Southeast Iowa Car Club. Tony enjoyed camping, riding his motorcycle, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and the Iowa Women’s Basketball team. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Tony will be deeply missed by his wife, Pennie of Wapello; daughter, Angela (Rick) Cook of Wapello; grandchildren, Taylor (Andrew), Connor, Matthew, Heather (Collin), Jenna (Alex) and Paige; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Ivy, Deklan, Elizabeth, Barrett and Jenson; brother, Nathan (Barbara) Housman and sister, Pearl Marie (Orson) Bauder.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry Housman in 2011 and great-grandson, Sawyer.
