Amada Estrada Obituary

Amada Felan Estrada, 85, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Lutheran Living. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at Greenwood Cemetery.  Following the service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Fruitland Community Center, 104 Sand Run Road, Fruitland.  Online Condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for the arrangements.

Amada was born on August 23, 1940 in Clifton, Texas, the daughter of Maky Felan and Anna “Stephanie” Garza.  In 1956, Amada was united in marriage to Basilio Estrada, Sr. in West Texas.  Growing up on a ranch, many may not know but Amada was proud of her small gun collection.  No matter where she lived, Amada always had a job; some of the more memorable being Walls Sewing Factory, working as a dietary aid at the Lutheran Sunset Home in Texas and operating a daycare while living in Marshalltown.  She loved shopping at goodwill, playing bingo, collecting dolls and crafting.  She could often be found coloring in her adult coloring books or doing crochet, embroidery and cross—stitch.  Amada was also a wonderful cook, known to many as Grandma Tortilla.

Amada will be deeply missed by her children, Basilio (Janelle) Estrada, Jr. of Morgan, Texas, Domingo (Sylvia) Estrada of Chicago, Illinois, Linda (Miguel) Mendoza of Liscomb, Geneva (Jose) Perez of Morgan, Texas, Gloria Estrada of Clifton, Texas, Raquella Medina of Des Moines, Irene (Luis) Alvizo of Newton, Josephina Duenes of Marshalltown, Yolanda Estrada of Muscatine, Sandra Estrada of Clifton, Texas, Lucio (Bridget) Estrada of Muscatine and Robert (Michelle) Murillo of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Cora Estrada of Morgan, Texas; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Amada was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Daniel, Benny, Mickey “MC”, Francis, Juanita, Marie, Amanda, Leona and Jessie; grandchildren, Jayson Estrada and Veronica Gonzalez and great grandchild, Isiac Martinez.
