Alice (Demaline) Roush

Alice Roush, 97, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Lutheran Living.  Per her wishes, there will be no service or visitation. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home is caring for Alice’s arrangements and her family. 

Alice Jane Demaline was born on October 5, 1922, in Wauseon, Ohio the daughter of Kenneth and Hazel (Andrews) Demaline.  Alice was a graduate of Stryker High School in Stryker, Ohio.  On August 26, 1944, Alice married Wayne Allen in Angola, Indiana.  They later divorced.  On February 2, 1957, Alice was united in marriage to Wendell Richard Roush in Angola.  Alice had a variety of interests including reading books, owning & operating the gift store at Old Style Colony Winery in Verona, Wisconsin, working in the gift shop at Boulders Resort in Carefree, Arizona and at Kardux Transfer in Muscatine.   Alice was a member of Church of Christ of Muscatine and loved animals. 

Alice will be deeply missed by her children, Grayson (Mia) Walker of Arizona; Meg Ann Roush of Muscatine, Steven (Jerri) Roush of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Scott Roush of Walla Walla, Washington; eight grandchildren, Matthew Koester, Noah Koester, Sam Koester, Aerin Roush Rodriguez, Tanner Roush, Laurie Miller, Amy Silvestri and Kristen Haag; thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Diana Zachrich of North Carolina and Karen Glanz of Michigan and several nieces and nephews. 

Memorial gifts may be made to the Muscatine Humane Society, 920 S. Houser Street, Muscatine, IA 52761.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard and three brothers.
