Howard Eugene Ash

Howard Ash, 71, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the University of Iowa Medical Center Downtown in Iowa City.  A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the Muscatine American Legion from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Howard.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. Howard Eugene Ash was born on December 11, 1952, in Muscatine, the son of Howard L. and Marjorie P. (Starkweather) Ash.  He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1971.  While in school he was in the Band and Jazz Band.  Howard met his wife, Pamela S. Chelf in June of 1973 and they were married on October 20, 1973.  He retired in December of 1999 from Bandag after 30 years.  He loved art, painting many pictures, music, camping, and was a member of the Eagle Lodge. Howard and his friend Bill Call started a DJ and Karaoke business.

Howard will be deeply missed by his wife of 50 years, Pamela Ash of Muscatine; daughter, Kimberly Ash of Muscatine; son, Jamie (Stephanie) Ash of Muscatine; granddaughters, Jerzie Ash of Iowa City, Brooklynn Ash of Muscatine, Mackenzie Ash of Muscatine, Liberty Ash of Muscatine; and best friends, Bill (Donna) Call of Muscatine and Bim Campbell of Illinois.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Ann Ash and Linda Lee Ash; half-sister, Marcy Folkers; half-brother, Michael Folkers; granddaughter, Laraine Ash and other extended family members
