Eric Gish

Eric Gish, 55, of Wapello, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Great River Hospice House.  A Celebration of Life for Eric will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Oakville Community Center.  Private burial will be held in Parsons Cemetery at a later date.    A memorial has been established in Eric's memory.   Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  The Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral Home of Wapello is caring for Eric’s family and arrangements.

Eric Gish was born on November 30, 1963 in Cumberland, Maryland the son of David and Patsy (Smith) Gish.  Eric was a graduate of Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Illinois.  On September 21, 1985, Eric was united in marriage to Mary Baumgardner in Plainfield, IL.  Eric was a truck driver many years for Tri-Oak Foods and most recently drove for KMS Trucking.  He was a member of the Oakville Fire Department.  He enjoyed taking his dog for a ride in the truck, going out on the river, target practice, camping, hiking and drinking beer.  His greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends and witnessing all his children’s accomplishments.

Eric will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary; children, Jessica (Gavin Kolars) Gish of Gilman, Iowa and Zach (Deise Fleming) Gish of Bettendorf, Iowa; siblings, Michael (Marla) Gish of Terre Haute, IN and Matt (Tracy) Gish of Fredericksburg, VA and his best friend, Lucky. 

Eric was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
