Wayne W. Jarrard, 90, of Lone Tree, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at his home in Lone Tree.  Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Lone Tree American Legion.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree American Legion or the United Presbyterian Church of Lone Tree.  Online condolences for the family may be sent to www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree is caring for Wayne’s family and arrangements.

Wayne Watson Jarrard was born on July 13, 1933, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Harry and Mildred (Watson) Jarrard.  Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Army for 2 years and then the Army Nation Guard for 19 years attaining the rank of Sergeant Major.  On June 2, 1957, Wayne was united in marriage to Wanda Barkhurst at the Methodist Church in West Liberty.  He worked for the Iowa City School System as the Director of Maintenance.  Wayne was a member of the Lone Tree American Legion #457, past member of the Lone Tree Masonic Lodge for 50 years, Lone Tree Fire Department for 10 years, Lone Tree City Council and Lone Tree Housing Board.  He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, camping and wintering in Texas for 17 years.

Wayne will be deeply missed by his wife, Wanda of Lone Tree; his children, Mark (Lori) Jarrard of West Liberty, Scott (Michelle) Jarrard of West Liberty and Linda Beinke and special friend, Mike Templeman of West Liberty; grandchildren, Curtis (Kelcee) Jarrard of Cedar Rapids, Josh (Ashley) Jarrard of New London, Missouri, Breann (Eric) Brown of West Liberty, Kyle Beinke of Atalissa and Shelby Goldsberry of Solon and great grandchildren, Danny, Alyssa, Josh Jr., Wesley, Nyle, James, Keegan, Alley Jo, Maverick and Eleanor.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Iva Jarrard, brother, Eldon Jarrard and sister, Marilyn Brumwell.
