Beloved wife, mom, sister, aunt, grandma and great-grandma, Peggy JoAnn Kruse was born on June 3, 1952 in Muscatine, Iowa to Richard and Kathryn (Van Dyke) Kruse. She was the fourth of ten children which included Mike Kruse, Bonnie Kruse, Bob Kruse, Emma Nesbit, Carl Kruse, Randy Kruse, Pat Munson, Leslie Kruse and Rick Kruse.

As a younger woman, she worked at Carver Pump and Schmarje Tool. She also did in-home elder care for a time. She was joined in marriage to William “Bill” Willet on February 19, 1988 in Muscatine, Iowa. The couple was married for 35 years.

Peggy filled her time with coffee, cigarettes, chit-chatting and computer games. She loved her animals and could make them fatter than any animal should ever be! Her current chunky Chihuahua, Tuffy, will be a portly comfort for Bill. Peggy also loved to laugh! Nobody made her do that more than the people she loved the most, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. (To this day, the siblings still argue over who was her favorite child.) Peggy fiercely defended and was so very proud of them all! Even at the times the kids were “rather hard to love,” she always said they were perfect! Peggy would talk to anyone, would generously give someone the shirt off her back, and she loved Jesus!

Those left to honor her memory and carry on the laughter include her husband, Bill of Muscatine; her sons: Ed (Susan) Elliott of Letts; Mike Elliott, Jr. of Muscatine; Mitch (Susan) Elliott of Muscatine; Brian Haveman of Muscatine; and Brandon Haveman of Muscatine; her daughters: Shelly Snider of Kansas City, MO and Dewey (Robbie) Gomez of West Des Moines; 17 grandchildren: Steven LaRue, Carleigh Norwood, Megan (Nick-Charlie) Elliott, Morgann Elliott, William Elliott, Tristan (Hannah) Soltwedel, Brandi Howard, Denver Snider, Joshua Snider, Dayton Elliott, Dereck (Rexy) Elliott, Drake Kaller, Diego Gomez, Robert Gomez. Jr., Reese Gomez, Brianna Bailey and Gracie Morris; 16 great-grandchildren and one more girl on the way!

She is also survived by four brothers; one sister; beloved nieces and nephews; and many other family members and close friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Mike and Carl; two sisters: Emma and Pat; her past beloved pets including her “pig” dog, Pearl; and one special granddaughter, Daphne Crumly, who we are sure was very happy to see her.
