Dale Alan Smith

Dale Smith, 70, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at his home in Muscatine.  Private family services will be held at a later date with burial in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the Iowa Parrott Rescue, 2479 Golden Avenue, Letts, Iowa 52754 in memory of Dale.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  The Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for Dale’s family and arrangements.

Dale Smith was born on December 25, 1951, in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Orville S. and Margaret A. (Oostendorp) Smith Jr. He was a 1971 graduate of West Liberty High School.  On December 4, 1971, Dale was united in marriage to Mary Kristine Horst in Muscatine.  He worked several years at HON and then worked ACT in Iowa City where he retired.  Dale enjoyed collecting and playing string instruments, listening to Blue Grass music and bass fishing, but most of all, he dearly loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

Dale will be missed by his wife, Kris of Muscatine; his children, Matt (Jennifer) Smith of Monroe and Jessica (Nathan) Jordan of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Olivia, Kaitlynn and Melanie Smith and Trent Jordan and one sister, Sara Stanoff of Atalissa.       .

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Doris Graham and Sandra Smith.
