Charles Mathias Jr., 80, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Premiere Estates in Muscatine. Private family services will be held at a later date. Charles Edward Mathias Jr. was born on February 11, 1943 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Baker) Mathias Sr. On November 5, 1967 he was united in marriage to Lorris Wheeler in Conesville. Charles was co-owner of Truck and Trailer Parts and Service for many years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge. Charles enjoyed racing and his Saturday night trips to the casino.
Charles will be deeply missed by his wife, Lorris of Muscatine; children, Charles “Chaz” Mathias III, Ann (William) Ballensky and Amy (Thomas) Claypool, all of Muscatine; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Howard of Muscatine and Mary Elizabeth Shoultz of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Fred Mathias.
